DRDO’s Latest Technological Breakthroughs in 2024: Innovations in Defense and Security

New developments in the year 2024: the DRDO has unleased innovative measures to boost India’s defense system. This new generation of ballistic missile is fitted with an AESA seeker to enhance stealth features and surface of the missile in a way that makes it harder to detect by radars to enhance penetration into enemy lines. Having an operational employment range exceeding 250 kilometers, LOALCM is designed for high value target attacks in defended spaces. This project has assumed significant importance in enhancing the long-range strike capabilities of India and demonstrates DRDO’s efforts to design hi-tech weaponry for future warfare​

5. High-Speed UAVs and Surveillance Drones

Expanding its focus on unmanned aerial capabilities, DRDO recently conducted a successful test of its high-speed Autonomous Flying Wing Technology Demonstrator. This unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is designed for rapid reconnaissance and is expected to play a crucial role in aerial surveillance and intelligence operations. DRDO is also advancing other drone models, including the Short-Range Armed UAV, “Archer,” for applications in reconnaissance and low-intensity conflict environments.
